How to Fix Missing Private Tab in Safari on iOS


Private Mode in Safari doesn’t track any searches nor creates history in the web browser. As the name has “Private” word, it directly signifies the private mode and you don’t have to worry about the search history getting recorded. For some users, it is a useful and important feature offered by the web browser. It is very straightforward to enable the Private Mode in Safari, but some users reported that the mode has gone missing from the internet software.
Since the Private tab is missing in Safari on iOS, it will be a tough task to switch between the Private and the Normal browsing mode. The Web Content Restriction is the only reason which is responsible for it, but, modifying the settings to enable the mode is a simple task.   1. Launch the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Go to Screen Time and tap on it.
  3. Select the Content & Privacy
  4. You will be prompted to enter Screen Time
  5. Enter the passcode which was previously called as Restriction passcode.
  6. Now, tap the Content Restrictions from the menu.
  7. Go to the Web Content and tap to open it.
  8. Tap on the Unrestricted Access
  9. Now, open the Safari
  10. Go to the tab-view or tap on (+) plus icon.
  11. You will see the Private
Remember that the method is applicable only when the restriction mode is enabled. There is a little effort in the process if you forgot your passcode and there is no way to regain the passcode. So if you are stuck with it particularly, then your iOS should be restored to remove the passcode.
